What is the name of your farm/ranch?

What a wonderfull thread. I just love the stories of how these names came around.

Several years ago I saw story after story on the news, about farm animals in despair. Starved...unkept..all local. I decided then that someone needed to help these unwanted and missunderstood animals. Most everyone around here look at them as " just a cow or just a farm animal" I decided then and there I was going to be the one to help these poor animals that were at " Heavens door" So DH and I started looking for a small farm ( something we could manage ourselves) When we found this place....I just KNEW it was the right place. Across the road from the property is a small country church....on the back side of the property is another small country church....on the south side is a home where the preacher lives...and on the North side of the property is several acres of field. This is the place....Heavens Door Acres. We sit in a perpetual " halo" surrounded by Churches, pastors, and several acres of open fields. We are not officially up and running as of yet...money issues...but help the ones we can. One day...we hope to be a full up and running rescue...to help the weak and unwanted...that are at " Heavens Door"

Our farm is called "Just By Chance Farm". Our first goat had a premie kid and didn't know what to do with him. We named him Chance because he had a slim chance of survival. We lost the little guy after much care and named our farm in his honor. It also just sums up how we get into stuff. We'll go to an auction or see an add and off we go on another tangent. We need to get a sign now that we're up and running again.

Justusnak~~What a sweet story. I love coming in contact with people that definately leave an impact on your life. So glad you had this opportunity.

Our name is "Acre of Blessings". We decided on this name because of all of the trials we have been through and to know that wherever we go, whatever we do, we can always come back here to our little acre and know that, by our Lord, we have truly been blessed.

My husband wanted to name our place "Hen Pecked Ranch", but I won out with "Cluck 'n Chuck".
I tell people we have the "clucks" but not the "chucks" yet-we'll be putting in some cattle in the near future.

My measly .6 of an acre is hardly a farm, but it's all mine, and I've been here for 30 years......I thought and thought about a name for it and then last winter when we were down in North Carolina wandering around in the woods around Cashiers it came to me. My favorite book is The Secret Garden (I'm a lifelong gardener and I just love the magic of that story) so I'm calling my little place Bit of Earth. Not farm, just Bit of Earth. Has a nice ring to it when you're selling honey, Bit of Earth Honey, and now Big of Earth Fresh Eggs.

the name of ours is Sunflower Farm. We did that as I love sunflowers , we grow a garden of them and I have them all over inside my home. My daughter is in the process of drawing BIG sunflowers on the front of the coop and then she will paint them and the name. She is the artist in the family.
