what is this bird? Barred rock?

Hello All!

This bird was re-homed/given to me recently. Apparently, it was found wandering the Blue Ridge Parkway here in WNC (it was truly a free-range chicken!). I originally thought that it was a Barred Rock, but now I'm not quite so sure. I'm also not sure if it's a roo or a young hen. It's tail feathers seem a little too flamboyant for a hen. No crowing yet, but no eggs either. It's a very sweet, docile bird. Maybe was someone's pet? I don't terribly care what breed she is as long as she's actually a she!!

Any clue what this bird is? Thanks!!

I think that the chickens have yellow shanks,and she have a single comb, if that is the case it is a BPR

I agree, he is a Barred Plymouth Rock
