What is this bird?

My daughter found a baby bird in our yard, there’s three in our garden, they don’t have a mother bird, and I’m curious to what it is.
it can’t fly, and when we go near it, it runs around to escape us, and tries to jump and fly.
this is the only way to get a picture or it will escape, so I can’t get a better picture of it.

Looks like a fledgling, whatever it is. Fledglings often spend a couple days on the ground before they can fly. If you put it back where it was, as long as it's safe, the parents will be returning to care for it.

I have returned it, and I’ve seen the mother around, so they’re in good hands!
