Mine too.
I have a big beautiful pond for the ducks. It is their main water supply during the day. They get unusually excited when I bring out their little one gallon bucket of fresh water I put on the other side of the yard for them. They will walk past the pond to get a drink out of the little bucket, even though it is 25% mud after an hour or soMine too.

I think it is more a disgust of clean water.lol. Ours do the same thing. A pond here, a pond there, a pool here, yet we can fill a water dish and they rush to it like they haven't seen water in a day. I think maybe they get excited a about "new" water?
That is so funny.I think it is more a disgust of clean water.Do you notice that ducks usually have a couple of sips before they go in swimming? "Hmmmm. sip sip sip... hold on sip sip... needs more poop" slide in and poop. Clean water and dry dirt are seen by the ducks as awful things that must be destroyed at all cost! Fortunately when mixed together they form glorious mud... their favorite play toy.![]()

Unfortunately, he already has to deal with that - from me.I try not to overdo it, but between the floof and the smell (how DO they manage to smell so good despite being in/near poop at all times?) it's really hard not to overwhelm the poor guy w/kisses ...![]()
