this has appeared on my hen and I have no idea what to do. She is eating and acting fine but I am concerned. Thank you!

Almost look like dried poop, hard to make out. Possible old scab as Notaneggspurt says.
Can you try to "soften or loosen" it with hydrogen peroxide?
My hen was attacked by a coyote about 13 months ago and suffered an injury in that area. I thought it had all healed since she had begun to produce eggs again but has not produced an egg lately. I will check more throughly again tomorrow and see. Thanks for responding

Hoping we get to hear a good update tomorrow. Have some paper towels and some cleaning supplies ready before trying to remove it.
And some antibiotic salve, just in case it's raw underneath.
Make sure it's good and soft before you try to remove any of the crust. Even if it's no longer attached to the skin, it may have feathers through it, and pulling off a scab with those buried in it would hurt, and possibly injure her all over again.
Good Luck!
