What is this growth between his nostrils?

I have an 11 month old Orpington cockerel who is pretty much fine, behaving normally, but has an odd growth where his comb meets his beak. I've tried to feel it (he rarely lets me) and it's not bone but it's not soft either. I want to be sure it's not something I have to be concerned about, and wondered if anyone had seen something similar or could identify it.

That may be a sore from an injury or wound from rubbing against fencing or a feeder. It also could be a little papilloma that may fall off eventually. I would not worry much about it. You can apply some disinfectant or antibiotic ointment if you wish, but I would not lance it as some suggest in the many similar threads about these same lesions. Here is one to read:
