What is this guy?

There is no lacing/silver lacing in him at all. Neither is their mottling (what Orloffs have)

What you're seeing is a melanized Golden Duckwing. Often crossing duckwing colors or simply breeding poor examples of the duckwing color will result in little white specks and smudges in the chest and thighs. A silver laced bird would not have gold, red, or green showing through like that.

Also, he's part Silkie.

Wow you guys are great! See I knew I should leave it to the experts. He sure is unique looking.

Rotten dumpers - they don't care about their roos, they want it to be your problem. How mean. He is a beauty tho, I hope he ingratiates himself with you and gets to stay. Is the other roo anything like him?

Thanks for all the kind words, he sure is interesting looking! When he got dumped I was really angry at first that someone would do that and make it someone else's problem, the fact of the matter is he lucked out. I may talk tough but he will get to stay even if he starts crowing. Nice little guy, pretty flighty but getting better and he plays well with the rest of the flock.

As for the other guy, no he doesn't look at all the same. I will work hard to get some photos of him in the morning and post them.

awesome, glad to hear he is going to have a home. wish i could keep a roo at my place, im trying to fly under the radar.
