It is simply an eggfart, mishapen soft shell. Pull it out. I've had it happen and everything turned out ok. Here's a link to egg peritonitis for future reference if necessary:

I went and took her out of the coop this morning. The small piece that was sticking out of her had come out completely but was stuck to her feathers. She got a 30 min warm bath and I removed the piece...which was definitely soft egg shell. She's resting in the bathroom with fresh water w/ACV, feed, and greek yogurt.
I'm afraid more might be in her still but can't tell. She is acting completely normal but does not like it when I mess with the area below her vent.

Along as she is acting normal, that's good news. Now you might want to do a water/vinegar flush to prevent infection.
Use a large syringe without a needle. Mix one tablespoon of white vinegar to one quart of water. Use a full syringe of the mixture and insert the syringe into her vent and flush. Use about 3 or 4 syringefuls, the liquid may or may not flow out of her vent afterwards. Then you're done with her.

Thanks so much for your help! I will attempt the flush later today. She is sitting in a nesting box now...I'm hoping for a normal egg!

She probably went to lay an egg and the egg was not completely formed yet. I have a chicken who is doing the same thing right now and she is starting to stink. Is Sweet Pea stinking badly?
