This little chick was born with a bulge near it's bottom. We have no idea if it's part of the inside of the egg still stuck to him or what it could be. Any ideas? S/He was born yesterday evening with some yolk (it was a greenish color) still attached to him. S/He is walking around and chirping. Any help would be much appreciated!

I know the pic is a little blurry. It's the little bulge right under the piece of shell.

It's basically where the umbilical cord was and it hatching before completely absorbing all the yolk. The green was its first poo. The bulge will go down over time and it's really anything to worry about. It will dry up and then leave a hard thing (think of it as a belly button drying up on a baby) but don't try to remove it, it will eventually fall off and the chick should be normal. :) congrats!

Thank you so much for your response. We where worried about the little chick.
