What is this on my chickens head?

4 week old seabright has developed a large lump(size of a small pea) over one eye. I thought it got injured by the light from the brooder, but then noticed it also has a swollen toe with a red lesion on it. It is eating, drinking and acting ok..but has swollen wattles and lips too.

Wow! I don't know. Almost seems like it could be some sort of Staph infection.

Could it be an allergic reaction to something?

What kind of bedding is he on?

The spot on his head looks like a bite or sting of some kind, leading me to believe it's an allergic reaction. Some kind of insect bite maybe? Centipede? Scorpion?

Poor Baby! I don't know, maybe fire ants? Is the chick acting normal? Are there any other symptoms?

Not sure, but that kind of looks like avian pox in the corner of its mouth.

I don't know for sure but pox is the first thing that came to mind for me.

Well, I changed his bedding back to shavings. I had put him in his own box with alfalfa and he seemed to be getting worse. I noticed the symptoms after a power outage and he had been put in alfalfa to keep warm. He is acting otherwise ok, but I think if it is avian pox I need to get rid of him. How do I do that?
