What is this? Plant? animal? alien species?.***.pic heavy***

Omigosh, will you look at this? This was IN my rooster's poop and we extracted it and cut it open. Had no idea what the heck it was! Am I crazy or does this look like the same thing? I saw your pic, expecially when you cut it open and was surprised. Is it the same or just something similar? And if it is a mushroom, how on earth did he ingest it and it come out whole in his poop?

Maybe it smelled so bad, the rooster internals wanted it out asap.

your right it does look the same.. apparently its actually editable and quite tasty

they secrete a stinky slime that smells like rotting flesh to attract flies and then the flies carry the sticky stuff which is its pollen and thats how it reproduces

It's a stinkhorn mushroom, and the yellow flowers/weeds are goldenrod. Truely putrid smelling little plant, isn't it.
