Please help, what is the fluid sack coming from my chicks back? Navel is clear as is her bottom (see pics). It’s literally from her back behind her wing, just part of her skin? She hatched this afternoon, all perfect to that point, on time and unassisted. Any ideas? She’s otherwise lively but can’t walk properly with this and also seems to have two club feet (which I could splint if this other thing is treatable).

Ronott1 thank you so much for replying, yes she did! I’m not sure it was yolk in the end as it was attached to the skin on her back not her abdomen. It all dried up and has left a strange skin flap area but it’s shrinking every day and she seems fine!

Nice!

It was likely the yolk going into an abscess. Good job on treating her!

Definitely looked yolk-like, just don’t really understand how it was in that position or why (hatched fully unassisted & on time). Hopefully her adult feathers will just cover it in time and that’ll be the end of it. We successfully splinted her crooked toes too so this one ended up rather a project!
