What is this protruding red spot on my egg?

Hello,
I just noticed these protruding red spots on my chicken’s eggs; the same chicken has laid two like this so far both one day and then the next.
It is fairly stuck to the shell egg I did not try and tear it off because I didn’t want to crack it.

Any ideas what it could be?

Just checking as it’s fairly large and thought it was weird to have it two days in a row.

I have a hen that lays eggs with what I call barnacles. I think it's just extra shell.

Most the time it comes of in little specks when you wash it.

Your eggs are still great to eat.

Yeah I ate the first egg and it was fine but just wanted to make sure cause I have never had hens before..
