good morning everyone and a happy new year!

I was doing a check up on my chickens this morning and noticed my one Road Island White has this strange scab/circular cut on her left inside wing, she doesn’t have it on her right wing and I checked my other chicken and she does not have it. I noticed it a couple weeks ago but didn’t think anything of it. Just today I noticed that his gotten bigger. When I touch it, it doesn’t seem to cause her any pain. The first time I noticed the scab I put vetrx on and thought that it might just go away but then I went on vacation and when I came back it had gotten bigger. I rubbed some warm vetrx on it and I will be checking on it every day now until I can figure out what it is or how to cure it. Does anyone know what I can do? Or what it is?

Could be an injury from a peck or getting stuck by a piece of wire. Even an ingrow feather.

I would put some triple antibiotic ointment on it for a few days. If it doesn't clear up, I would be tempted to take the scab off to see if there is a feather rolled up underneath there.

Hopefully others will chime in with their thought.

Agree with @Wyorp Rock It doesn't look angry so I wouldn't be too worried but if the cream doesn't clear it up I would take a look under the scab too. Best wishes!

One of my hens had that same scab, in the same spot too! It went away after a while.
