I've never had issue with chicks or roos pigging out on egg shell. IMO, if they do, no harm done. If calcium load were such a concern, we'd see a lot of free range birds on dialysis, or they'd be dropping dead simply from enjoying their free range greens.Hi.![]()
I feed out my crushed, raw egg shells all the time. Never a problem with egg eaters or illness. Of course oyster shell is available at all times. I also like to keep it simple.
Anyone know if roos or chicks will access the egg shell even thought they leave the OS alone?
