I have four females and one drake in the pen. They have been together for several months. I was taking a sample of eggs occasionally and thought they looked fertile. I put twenty eggs in the incubator and candled them today on the 7th day and only eight appear to be growing. The rest are pretty clear. I thought that with that male to female ratio that my eggs would mostly be fertile. Do you think he has his favorite females and the others aren't getting fertilized??? I usually buy my eggs to hatch and thought this would work out better with a drake to fertilize them, but I am a little disappointed in him. He is one year old. He is a sweetie though - just disappointed in his ability to fertilize eggs. : )
