What is wrong with my hen?

Today, when I inspected my buff Orpington hen, I noticed she had a bloody ball coming out of her vent. I touched it, and it was soft, and pus came out. She is acting fine, but I am still worried. Any thoughts?

I do not know.she could be egg bound.does she have any of these symptoms:
Walking like a penguin.
No interest of eating or drinking.
Pale skin.
Droop comb.
I do not think she is,but she might.ii hope that somebody that knows more comes.

I just checked on her, and it was totally gone and looked normal? I couldn't find the "ball" anywhere in the coop?? Im thinking maybe this is a normal part of her that is exposed while laying, since she was laying when i took her.
