What is wrong with my hen?

I agree with @dawg53 My guess is that is an infected feather follicle that came in from the side . Just a suggestion you could try pulling that broken feather on the side of the foot it may give some relief , Again just a thought . might need some antibiotics . Good luck . Impacted follicle was the words I was looking for .
We’ve plucked those feathers and sprayed her with wound cleaner. No antibiotics on hand but if I can find some at the store I’ll pick some up
Thanks!

I dont see bumblefoot at all. There is some type of infection going on. Can you take her to a vet?
I took this picture about an hour ago. It looks like maybe a cyst? Or does that look like the beginning of bumblefoot? I think whatever that is, is what’s causing the swelling.

I would soak her feet in warm water, add a little epsom salt and repeat twice a day. Are there any visible areas that look red ? Or might be oozing ? I would apply some antibiotic ointment to that area and keep it as clean as possible. Do not let her walk in muddy areas.

Her feathers might be due to her being picked on, or parasites. Usually when a bird gets sick, the parasites can really take a toll. I would treat the coop and her for external parasites as well.

Thanks. I was thinking about doing that, I will try. If you can see the photos on the previous replies, there are a few red areas on the side of her foot. No oozing though and it’s hard to pin point exactly what is causing the swelling. We treat the coop for lice and mites monthly and we de-worm them every other month or so

The photos are helpful, but it’s hard for me to determine the abscess. Something is infected for it to swell, you might have to probe around the area and see if there’s any areas that can release. It could be from the feathers area on the foot (pin feather). The dips should help, but you are going to have to really inspect and see where the abscess is from and release it. Antibiotics and a disinfectant spray will help too.

Does the foot feel hot compared to the other foot? If so, theres a good possibility you are dealing with infection. @Wyorp Rock @Eggcessive @azygous may have an option as to what is going on.
Definitely do an epson salt soak, but be very careful not to get the rest of her body wet if she isn't feeling good already. Soaking their feathers can lead to hypothermia if they're already ill, since they have a harder time controlling body temp.
To do this, I've used a bucket sling soaker in the past. Simply cut two leg holes in a towel, rap the towel over the top and secure it tightly. (I used a bungee cord to hold the towel around the edges of the 5 gal bucket.) Then, fill the bucket with water and epsom salt if you haven't already, and place her legs through the holes, then cover her head to keep her calm. This makes it easy to keep her from getting wet.

Soaked her in epsom salt yesterday. Going to do it again today as it looks like the redness has gone down
