Just one, not possible, so here are a few:
1) Made for me on my birthday by my aunt, she was married to an Armenian man. Raw, top quality ground sirloin, bulgar wheat, some water, chopped parsley and finely chopped onion. All mixed together by hand an made into meat ball shapes. Then eaten raw or boiled on a flat bread. I have no idea what this was/is called but I loved it and still do - totally raw of course.
2) Saltine crackers with butter, someone else mentioned that and I still make that for myself on occasion - note to self: buy saltine crackers
3) Saltine crackers and sliced american cheese. Each cheese slice is folded into fouths, then one fourth placed on each cracker and enjoyed. Note to self, get some sliced american cheese along with the saltine crackers
4) Beer, does that count? Adult memory, not childhood, but just the same...
Shopping list: saltine crackers, sliced american cheese, beer (dark) and a trip to Aunt Beth's to see if she wants to make some of that excellent Armenian food for me....
