What is your favorite hatchery?

This is my first experience with chicks, my pet chickens made an impression on me, very healthy and energetic chicks, I'm very happy!!

I went with My Pet Chicken. I really liked the customer service, and the fact I didn't have to get 15. I would like to try another hatchery in the future, but I simply do not have enough room for 20+ chickens! Although Id love to! I will probably order from My Pet Chicken again, eventhough I'm told they come from Meyer (I think), I looked at the box my chicks were shipped in- and are they flown?? Only reason I ask is, it looked like there was an airline tag on the box, and it say from CLE, to PVD which is the closest airport. Either way! Im happy with my chicks, so far so good! I just wanna get a few more- and all the feed stores around here seem to be 12+ minimum!

Today is my first order from healthy chicks and more, I liked being able to pick from 1 to however many of what breeds I wanted. They had most of the breeds I was looking for also.

I have always liked the McMurray site, and quite a few others, but I haven't been able to swallow the minimum order of one breed at most sites. I liked my mixed flock.

My favorite hatchery is one that gives me quality birds, truth about the breed or crossbreed of chickens I get, pictures of parent stock,and absolutely no severe inbreeding.

Wait, those don't exist. . .

To me, healthy chicks only means that the hatchery was close by and nothing went wrong with their shipment.

I did not buy from the hatchery perse but from my feed store that deals with them They have dealt with Mt Healthy for 20 years. I knew of them and I wanted chicks from that state as it is close to us. So when I heard where they were getting the from I ordered. So glad I did as they have been great. I even ordered more this year to replace what I lost to hawks last year. So just going on what i am seeing and friends that also ordered from them they are a small quality hatchery. I have people I know not only local that got threw the feed store but those across the country that order direct. everyone has been very pleased.

I ordered from Hoovers Hatchery. I'll let you know how it goes, so far its been great and they are the cheapest I have found.
