What is your favorite hatchery?

I ordered bantams from McMurry for two years and worked out well. The third year I ordered one batch of 25 sebright chicks for Feb delivery and they were all dead (I'm in New England). I don't ever order chicks until April now. They did refund me the full price without a problem. I ordered sexed RIR pullets from Meyer for the last two years and all were healthy. I ordered 100 leghorn chicks from Meyer also and they were all healthy. Last year I ordered 9 sexed bantam pullets from My Pet Chicken and they were 100% right on the sexing and the chicks were all healthy. This year I am ordering sexed RIRs, sexed Americanas and 25 straight run bantams from Cackle and 10 runners and 1 crested ducklings (all sexed) from Purely Poultry. We'll see how they do. :)

My local feed store orders from Privett. I was so happy with the New Hamps that I got from them, that I ordered 25 dominiques (straight run)directly from Privett. They arrived on Valentine's Day. All were healthy and alive and are doing well. Great customer service from the local post office. [ A little concerned at Chicken Fruit's comments regarding Marans. I picked up two Marans. Uh oh! ]

Anyway, I also have RIRs, Buff Orps, and a Sebright. The Sebright was weak, but I think that's their nature. This week, I am expecting Silkies and Cochins from Privett. Our feed store orders anything you want that is available from Privett and I don't pay shipping...bonus!

I've ordered from Cackle Hatchery for all my orders and have been very pleased with the chicks and customer service. I have never lost any chicks. I ordered from them because they're the closest to me (8 hours away). This year I am trying Meyer Hatchery just because they have some chicks Cackle doesn't have. I get this bunch in May and I have been very pleased with Meyer's customer service. I have emailed them about a dozen times changing the order and asking questions and they are very pleasant and quickly respond. Will see how the chicks do in May when I get them. My first order with Cackle they were 100% on the sexing. The second and third order I got an extra rooster in each bunch, which I was disappointed, but was able to give them away without a problem. Still, I say Cackle rocks!

I see this is an oldish thread but I am a first time chick owner. I bought from my local Orschelns. They order from Estes Hatchery. I had a few questions about some chicks that were NOT what were advertised. I got blown off for 2 weeks and then someone FINALLY sent an email back stating my chickens are sonething they could not be. Also, AI understand at a place like that, chicks get mixed up with kids moving them around but I bought 6 BPR females and 6 RIR females, neither breeds had roos for sale at the same time. All 12 are roosters....sorry for rambling... I believe we will try out Cackle or Mcmurray next..

First time chicken owner. Two orders from Meyers. Their customer service is amazing. Ordered RIR,CX, Barred Rocks and Partridge Rocks. All were fine except the Partridge Rocks in both orders were dead or died within 12 hours. The first two Partridge did not make it then their replacements did not either. It was disappointing but Meyers stood by their guarantee. Anyway I would order from them again...probably not Partridge Rocks but definitely would order the others. They sent 2 extra CX and a mystery chick to provide eggs/meat to donate. The customer service was fast, knowledgeable and helpful.

I've ordered from Cackle 3 times and they were 100% on their sexing and NO losses ever. This last time I ordered from Meyer and 8 of my 28 chicks died. It was devasting but their customer service was great and they refunded my money. I won't order chicks from them again but I do get lots of supplies from them. Meyer was 2 1/2 times farther away from me than Cackle so I think that was the problem. I will go back to ordering from Cackle again in the future. Meyer has chicks that Cackle doesn't offer at this time but not worth the risk of such a high loss ratio.

I like "my pet chicken". I've only ordered chicks one time but it was through them. They arrived the very next day after they were shipped! All happy and in gret health. I also like that they guarantee live chicks and what ever sex you order. If any happen to unfortunately not make it or turn out to be the opposite sex that you ordered they send you new chicks :)

Welp hatchery is wonderful! Have a HUGE variety of chicks that are available when other hatcheries are sold out or out of season. Got all chicks and extras on time, healthy, happy and no losses. Very satisfied!

I love mypetchicken.com. I have ordered twice from them, 8 chicks the first time and 4 chicks the second time. They arrived the morning after they shipped them. All were healthy and chirping. I had to call because I had a question about my order and the customer service was delightful!.

I do have a question though. How can I have my chicken breeds listed in the bottom of my posts like so many others on here?
