I can't pick just one. LOL. My favorites were always tart jellies like Crabapple or Wild Plum.

But last year I tried making a Mixed Fruit jelly using wild plum, grape and apple juices. It's at the top of my list now.

I also like Pear Butter and Pear Preserves (jam).

I'll start a new thread for it later today when I've got a bit more time.

I would have to give a vote for the sand or wild plum where the plums are the size of a quarter and grow on bushes in thickets. Gotta love pomegranate, especially since they have a festival here where I live. The old standby's are great; peach, apricot, grape, etc. If I had to pick just one, I guess it might be possum grape, small wild grape in Oklahoma where I grew up. Seem to be hard to find anymore, my mom used to put a leaf off these in some homemade dill pickle that processed in the sun. Although, there is a recipe for peach pit jelly that is great and pretty cool looking...ah who am I kidding, I like it all!

Absolutely!!! NOTHING can beat Mayhaw jelly!

My aunt Mary in Georgia makes it and it is wonderful.
She is 96 years old and the last I had was some my mother snuck to me after dad got a jar from her. She is not living in the same place anymore so that was probably my last jar of Aunt Mary's Mahaw...

There was never enough to go around for everyone and so I would never "ask" for any. It took me forever to even find someone who knew what it was. That was online. I've only found it once and that was not nearly as good as hers.
I just love the flavor of it.
Maybe we can do some trading Buckhorn?
Seriously, please keep me in mind when you go to making it.
I would love to find a good source of it.
Only thing sweeter than Mayhaw jelly is my Aunt Mary! Sheis a real georgia peach!
