i think part of what they are saying in terms of considering some of those breeds to no longer be game is that they have had other breeds bred into them at some point to improve them for the show ring or add new colors, thus diluting the original breeding. therefore, they are no longer truly game fowl. it would be like breeding a rosecomb bantam into a phoenix....is it still a phoenix? not trying to stir things up, i'm just saying everybody chill out, there's different opinions on what does and does not and for what reasons qualify as a game breed. i for example do not consider the aba recognized "american game bantam" truly a game due to the fact that red junglefowl and b.b. red old english or some other breed was used to create them alongside miniature pit games.
to each their own. i think what it boils down to is once a breed has had another breed put into it it can never go back to being that original breed, even if it looks and acts the part.
