What is Your Favorite Word to Describe Your Flock?

It depends on the day! Sometimes it's Little Freeloaders, usually sweet little fluff butts, Little rascals, and always at night when I lock them up safe and sound it's Goodnight Sweet Ladies I only have 4 so most of the time I call them by their names and they come to me.

I speak French to my chickens. They seem to prefer the higher pitch and I can always calm them down in that language if they get upset by seeing a predator, et cetera. So my hens are "mesdames" or "mes jolies poules" and the chicks are "mes petits". Of course they also all have names so they can be addressed individually!

I call them my girls and by name Rho Raven and Remy. So sweet in three days learned to take themselves up in coop via ramp. I love my girls. Now have to train them on come recall like my other girls were.

I call mine my littles even though half are bantams and half are standards

Every morning I open the coop and say goooood moooorning my littles

They each have their own little groups
Floyd my frizzle polish, Monet my splash silkie and daphne my golden laced polish I call my hair band which I am sure you can guess why lol

Love this! Was considering some polish for the simple fact that I want to name them after Motley Crue.. and call them “my Motley Crue”... I have a standard poodle named Bon Jovi

I don't have to call my chickens at all. They have a very large run (4000SF) but do not free range. They are about 200+feet from the house, so they see me coming long before I get there and they are already gathered at the gate to greet me. That being said, they each have a name. Lucy, the oldest BO, and oldest of my flock. Surly and Girlie are the other 2 BO's. Wordie, Birdie and Gertie are the triplets, Australorps. Then there is Queen B and Queen Victoria, the 2 RIR's. I will often call out "Lucy!" when I go out. Always excited to see her. Well, all of them really. As a group they are my chickens.

I have names for some of my hens, but I call them all "My girls", except for my rooster who we named "Beaker", named after the Muppet who couldn't talk. Unfortunately Beaker talks a lot, and he's supposed to be a quiet breed, he's a Lavender Orpington.
