What is your most unusual Christmas tradition?

It use to be going rabbit hunting on Christmas morning with my grandfather, until he passed away 10 years ago. Now I really don't have anything unusual I do.

this is just a hint for all you stressed out moms...........one year I was working 12 hour shifts at the steel plant and coming home exhausted and stressing out because the housework was waaaaayyyy behind...well at the last minute I realized there were cob webs all over the chandelier in the dining room!

what do y'all have against rednecks? Having lived half my life on the "REDNECK RIVIERA" and my childhood in Appalachia, I take offense to the tone of that sentence. Are you implying that a majority of "rednecks" have buck "teef" and therefore improper or less proficient dental care than where you reside? What are you talking about,DUDE?
All y'all take care!

Well heck, I couldda called them hillbilly teeth or hey how about british teeth. LMAO

This is a great thread! We started the "Take a Pic With a Chicken" tradition! It was so much fun! My 87-year-old father who was raised a "country-boy" just loved it...here is his pic with my Barred Rock, Lizzie.

Doesn't he look happy?

Edited to add: Thanks for the idea, jerryobaby!

I miss our strangest Christmas tradition: giving blood. This time of year blood is in short supply. Unfortunately demand goes up right after Christmas and NewYears. I have been unable to donate for quite a while, but I hope to be able to this year.

We always have fondue on Christmas Eve at my parents' house. I don't know how we got started, but we've been doing it for about 40 years. And for Christmas, my husband always gets a new Christmas CD - but not a traditiional one. Last year's was "A Toolbox Christmas" where all the songs are played using power tools. He has a Jeff Foxworthy "Redneck Christmas", Jimmy Buffet's CD, and, of course, the one with dogs doing Christmas songs! I think this year he's getting one with Twisted Sister doing Christmas caroles!

WE make Christmas poo. My mom has a bit of a twisted sense of humor and she lives fake poo out all year in her living room. A few years ago my kids and I were making cinnamon christmas ornaments to give out and we made her a pil efor her tree. Now every year we have to make Grandma some Christmas poo!

Hey, it's fun and at least this kind smells good:-)
