They live at a local pond. There are plenty of mallards, a couple of Pekins, and someone must've dumped a whole flock of Muscovies here. But these two I have no idea. The male is as big as a Rouen but more muted in color. The female is black and white.
Any ideas?

Khaki Campbell drake and Black Swedish hen.

I don't know where you are, but in southern states -- including where I am in NE Florida, there are wild muscovies. The muscovies here migrate and fly into retention ponds and ornamental lakes in January for the breeding season. Strictly speaking they are feral muscovy [true wild muscovy are only in Texas at the moment but are extending their migratory territory further north.] So perhaps the muscovies at your pond were not dumped!

It's a public pond. And it is a Southern state, but a more mid south one. Tennessee. There was one lone male muscovy for a long time and then suddenly one day in late summer/early fall there was a whole flock of them. I suppose they could be kind of wild but I've never heard of that in my state.
And thanks for the identification!

I think they are more likely to be feral than dumped.

I dunno. Maybe. They're not even slightly afraid of humans that's for sure though.

I was thinking about bringing the Swedish girl home since I'd like another girl, but it looks like she's really bonded with this male and I don't want to break them up (I really don't want another drake.)
But all the ducks seem to be doing well at the pond--some people still try to feed them crap like bread and tortillas, but a lot of people feed them duck feed, bird seed, vegetables, etc. I worry about the obviously domestic ducks there (like the Pekin pair, and these two), but they seem ok so far.
