Sultans have vulture hawks and feathered legs, and are seldom any color but white. This is a Houdan.

As for keeping him, I think you might be biting off more than you can chew in your situation. If you have reliable people to help out, great. For now, I would find something to keep him in that is predator proof. Otherwise he's likely to be taken, sooner or later. Best of luck!

Mottled Houdan. Getting hens for him would be nice since chickens are prone to getting depressed when they have no others of their species to hang out with. For a warning, if you're looking to get more Houdans, they are a quite expensive breed due to being rare, and that can be a problem if you want to get the correct ratio (one rooster to ten hens is the usual ratio in a flock).

If you want more Houdans i would look for them at a feed store. That is we’re I bought both of mine.
