What kind of a duckling is this??

I would say blue Swedish, too. I doubt he's much more than three weeks old, though. Usually, if they're older than that, they have more feathers around the chest and shoulders.

I'm thinking it's a black because Lucky is more of a brownish color. The picture makes him/her look grey, now that I know what I'm looking at. lol Lucky looks much like jonhpdx's duckling in the picture below.

I'm thinking Lucky is about 2-3 weeks. Some feathering is starting to grow. There are a few hard feathers on it's tail and some here and there on the body. So can't be older than 3 weeks, at the most, I think.

Yes, Lucky is very attached to humans. I don't know how long the gentleman had had Lucky before he brought it over to us. It's been several weeks since the last snow storm. Definitely long enough for Lucky to get imprinted. I don't think it's a bad thing at all, especially if we decide to keep Lucky. We run some programs for kids and having a people friendly duck would be a great thing for the kids to see.

Looks like you've got a black or blue swedish duckling on your hands! The reason I'm not sure which exact breed it is is mostly because the color of Lucky's coat in the picture your gave us could either be black or dark blue. I'm leaning towards black, but I'm not 100% sure.

Here's what my Black Swedish duckling looked like for reference:

Thank you everyone! This was lots of helpful information.

I've experienced that with mine. Out of the four different breeds I have, my Black Swedish girl is by far the most friendly. Looks you in the eye when you come up to the pen, is very vocal towards you and also loves being held (when I can catch her, haha).
