what kind of bait do i need to catch a fisher.

Personally, I would suggest putting the trap off the ground (avoid the skunk) securing it, tarp over it and bait it with raw chicken/hamburger , an egg, one broken and one whole, even some sardine juice.
If you use sardine juice, make sure its a live trap cause every neighbors cat will be coming for a visit.
For Raccons, we use tuna fish in oil, the smell stays longer.
One thing you want to make sure you do is to weight it down, secure it, cause they will roll that trap for all its worth. I would not use a leg trap for these critters as they would sooner chew off a leg to be free.
These are terrible animals, weasles are bad enough, and I'm not sure how your area is , but here in Maine they are no longer catch and release. Rabies is high in my county here in Maine. Good luck!

We have lots of them around here. This one ran up a tree when it saw me:

This one was hit by the car in front of me one night (I gotta come up with a better story...):

Very impressive photo and mounted. I have only seen them in a feild, never close enough to see.
Interestingly, we have an are where Mink are. I actually saw one cross the road...a kissing cousin to the weasle, and fisher I guess.

Ugh!!! I juat had a heart attack today when I thought I saw a small fisher in our front yard. My mom and dad think it was a baby woodchuck. My dad didn't even see it and my mom didn't get close to it at all, but a went a couple feet away from it and looked at it. I'm sure It was a fisher. It had a long fluffy tail short ears and same face as a fisher. And when I went near it, it just stared at me. After a couple minutes, it turned around and walked away. Now would a woodchuck do that?? I've seen a woodchuck before, and the second I looked at it, it ran away. This thing wasn't very scared of me. Sorry if I'm kinda adding to this topic. For bait, probably anything smelly. Cat food, maybe wet dog food, a can of tuna or salmon would probably work.

For most weasels, you can put pine shavings soiled with squirrel or mouse droppings in a Sherman trap. It's effective, and doesn't attract too many other critters.

What? You don't have any of those?

I agree with this. Here in Vermont you can hunt and trap them, but the seasons are limited. I'd let a professional do the job - personally, I'd rather live-trap a bear than a fisher - they are MEANIES!
