Personally, I would suggest putting the trap off the ground (avoid the skunk) securing it, tarp over it and bait it with raw chicken/hamburger , an egg, one broken and one whole, even some sardine juice.
If you use sardine juice, make sure its a live trap cause every neighbors cat will be coming for a visit.
For Raccons, we use tuna fish in oil, the smell stays longer.
One thing you want to make sure you do is to weight it down, secure it, cause they will roll that trap for all its worth. I would not use a leg trap for these critters as they would sooner chew off a leg to be free.
These are terrible animals, weasles are bad enough, and I'm not sure how your area is , but here in Maine they are no longer catch and release. Rabies is high in my county here in Maine. Good luck!
