What kind of chicken has grey feathers.

You should get a website or a Facebook page so we can follow your success! There is a similar kind of thing here in Idaho. Various farmers offer items all through one main farm. Microgreens are huge here.
A chicken farm is a long way from Brooklyn. Two different worlds. Is this a recent switch or have you been at it for awhile?
I appreciate your interest! I have been mentally transitioning to a homestead lifestyle for about 7 years. Practicing frugality, DIYing, learning "primitive skills" etc/ My wife and I toom the plunge and bought the land and literally transitioned almost 2 years ago. We are in a tiny house on the end of a dirt road. When we moved here there was no power, no water, no cleared land, and the house still had cigarettes in the ash tray and clothes on the line from the old women who lived here before us. We now have solar, a shower, an acre of pasture, gardens, mushroom, birds, maple syrup, canna garden etc. We are really coming along.

That or the kid at the store goofed it up.

Hatcheries can make mistakes, but it seems quite rare.
Mix-ups at stores seem depressingly common.

I think the reason is that the hatchery has people deal with chicks all day, so they come to know what they are doing. The people at the store do lots of other things too, so they don't learn as much about the chicks.

It's been rainy for the last few days! Not the usual weather for June.

What an adventure! It sounds like a huge project. I’m sure it’s a lot of work but very rewarding. Is farming your full time job or a hobby?

Since moving here I have went from full time factory worker to 22 hours a week at a smoke shop. HUGE step in the right direction. I would like to be making a living off my land in th next 3-5 years. I have been trying to find some high value ffarm commodiities. So far I have landed on Maple Syrup and Shiitake Mushrooms for market.
