What kind of container do you use for grit?

I toss Grit in my Run once a week and use a dog bowl once a week for oyster shell..

My soil is yellow sand so I don't need grit.
Pocket Gophers continually push up little mounds of fresh sand and the birds like to take it from there.

I took the bottom of an old metal long chick feeder and screwed it to the wall

The cups you linked are fine. I use basically cheap plastic versions of those and just hook them up on scrap wire that's nailed to the coop wall.

Do you need to clean that at some point? If so, how do you do that with it nailed to the coop wall?

I buy used ceramic casserole dishes at the Goodwill! They're hardy, dishwasher safe and I don't care if they get chipped or dirty at $1 a piece!

I use the steel cage cups for fermented feed. For grit and oyster shell, I use these Petmate Kennel Water Cup. Can't beat 74 cents!! I also like to use the Happy Hens Coop Cups. Occasionally they show up at Tractor Supply around chick days.

I use old beat-up aluminum skillets (frying pans) that used to be non-stick. They are heavy enough with grit or oyster shell in them that they don't tip or flip.
