What kind of dog do you have?

The hubby brought home a sheltie / husky mix this weekend. Buster is his name.

Cute as heck, but *LOVES* to chase the chickens.

Good thing he's only 8 weeks old, he's completely trainable. Our other dog, Boomer, is beginning to herd him off the chickens when he's chasing him, so hopefully, he can also learn by example.

Nice to see this thread. I have four Newfoundlands. We have Gege, Zoey, Bear and Charm. They are so funny but man you love to hate that hair!

This is Gege...she's 7 years old and a Landseer.

This is Charm who is Gege's daughter and 20 months old.

Some Rescue groups have tough requirements.
I have done a "home inspection" for a group as a favor and was embraced at some of the questions they wanted me to ask.

Pound pups are great.

And enjoy the time you have left with your friend....my dane is getting old and having a tough time. I do not think she has much longer. I love her and will miss her terribly when the time comes.

and my Noel......one is purebred...one is mixed.....both are equally as great!

lab. i dont have one but i know alot of people who do. they are one of the best breeds i have ever seen:D

you might want to get one as a puppy to manke sure you train it to know not to get hold of the chickens. cause they are bred usualy for bird hunting dogs.
Good luck with picking a breed!

i have a mini dochsund.
NOT good with chickens...or rodents...or reptiles...only cats and other dogs. but only in her family
she is a great house dog though. and if you ever want to track down a badger, or a mole, or even a lost hamster, gerbil ect., get one.
thats what they were bred for.

she is so funny too. she has to sleep in a bed, under the covers, with her cold nose on your leg.
and whenever she is in the computer room she shuts the door with her nose
in the den there is a pillow on the couch, it's hers, and she has her own blancket she got as a b-day present so she won't take mine! lol
