Okay, I concede that she looks like a Cornish hen, BUT what I am saying is that I think something else got mixed in somewhere BECAUSE ALL of the Dark Cornish pictures I have looked at to compare to, and my own ladies to compare to (and some of them have bad coloring, and these five weren't the only ones I have had here), they ALL have a black neck and head. This particular girl is lacking the black head and neck completely. In addition, she has a very off color for the DC. She possesses a darker, orangy coloring, more consistent with what I have seen in a gold laced variety AND she is missing the double penciling pattern. Yes, she could be a REALLY BAD colored DC, but if a hatchery is producing birds that are this far off, they should host a big Chicken BBQ and get new stock. Then again, hatcheries and those breeders who sell EEs and market them as Araucanas and Ameraucanas should come clean and quit lying to people too. What do you think the odds of that happening are?
Thanks though, everyone for making it perfectly clear to me to not buy chicks from TSC.
my gal here looks alot like yours. She's very tiny. very short legs. still trying to figure what she is.
Lady sold 4 to me as Ameracaunas. LOL. not likely. silly silly.
She is named little Black as she's almost bantam size. She looks out of place with the other gals.
I am going to look at pics of the dark cornish too, but, wouldn't they be bigger???
Def dark Cornish for the OP, and my dark Cornish lay both white, brown, and sometimes cream eggs. Actually my RIR, and BR will throw a cream or light brown egg on occasion.
