What kind of incubator

With incubators, you get what you pay for. Anything under $100 is going to be a lot of work to get decent hatch rates. The smaller the unit, the harder it is to maintain humidity and temperature. They also often do not accommodate larger duck and goose eggs. I'm more the set and forget group. Egg turner and good size water reservoirs are a must. Maintaining temperature and humidity are top priority.
I went with the incuview based on reviews, price and that I didn't need separate egg turners for chicken and geese eggs. The other best first incubator is the Genesis 1588. Both are priced in the $175 range.

Cutler is selling this Genesis Hovabator 1588 WITH the turner for $173.30

I've used this incubator many times and never had a failure that wasn't due to my poor choice of eggs to put into it.
Don't skimp. Get the turner.
Don't forget to read ALL the directions.
Failure is optional.
