reading that I need Probiotic in addition to medicated feed for my new chicks.
What kind of Probiotic?? I have tons of it that my family takes but is it the same?

So sorry if this sounds silly

Everything I read says it is all the same. I tried yogurt, but it led to smelly poo, so a powder would probably be even better. What I use now is Rooster Booster with Electrolytes and Probiotics, which is a powder I put in their water.

This article may answer your questions: http://poultryone.com/articles/probiotics-html

My probiotic of choice is Probios dispersible powder: http://www.probios.com/powdersgranules3.html
Dosage is 1 tsp per gallon of water.

This is also a decent quality poultry vitamin + probiotics: http://www.qcsupply.com/540382-vitamins-electrolytes-plus.html
Dosage is .25 tsp per gallon of water.

Probiotic Plus by ASP is also one that is stabilized for use in chlorinated water: http://www.asp-inc.com/osf/

It is suggested that if you have chlorine in your drinking water, to set it out overnight before adding probiotic dispersible powder the next morning.
