What kind of snake is this?

Oh Lord, that snake looks big. Whatever it is, its definitely creepy.

That is a shame you are color blind. I think it is a milk snake.

its an Eastern Milk Snake.
pretty and a lot of the milk snakes will rattle their scales to scare off a would be preditor.

Likely the reason it didnt move away is because the dog made him angry.

Sorry for the loss of such a beauty but thats what happens when one decides to pretend to be something they are not.

snake learned a hard lesson.
 
it doesn't have the same pattern as our rattle snakes...but in different areas there are different patterns for various breeds of rattle snakes...???

that's the reason I usually carry a pistol, unfortunately I didn't have any shot loads ready this time
 
Isn't there a saying that if the tail is stubby its poisonous, but pointy its not . . .that is definitely not a stubby tail. Long and skinny fella wasn't he? and, you know they say that where is one, there is TWO. Keep your eyes peeled!!
