What Kind of Spider is This?

It's an orb weaver. Does she weave a round web and stay mostly in the middle? She may take the web down and rebuild it every night. They do not wander and stay with their web. I think they're quite pretty. We had one set up her web in our hall and we treated her like a pet (no snuggles!!) It is unusual but not unheard of for them to be inside. Outside they only live 1 year but longer inside. Ours never laid eggs since there was no access to a male. (thankfully!)

Also: if you don't see her in the web, she's hiding close by. They don't go far from the web. If you wanted to see where she goes, spook her when she's in the web and see where she runs to.

Lol, same here, but I’m a different way...as long as there’s a barrier I don’t mind as much (and I really love their webs in the morning! So beautiful with few drops!!)

Yes, orb weaver. I have had one living up above the frame of my deck door for a while now. I love her, she feeds on the flies and yellow jackets which is fine by me!
