What Kind of Waterer?

I'm trying to decide whether to buy a plastic waterer/heater all in one combo, or a metal waterer with a separate heater. This will be our first winter coming up having chickens. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I've seen several posts about those, and all of them had problems with them.
If you ever want to use vinegar in the water, it has to be plastic

I'd get a plastic waterer and a seperate heater, and improvise a way to make them work together​
