what kinds of ducks should i get?

Are you going to order them from a hatcherie?If so pick a nice warm week,not to warm!Perferably late spring,early summer so there ready for winter.

yeah i am hoping to order from a hatchery, although i only want 2 and I am finding it hard to get just a small order in!

Metzers will let you put in a small order of just two. That's where I got my first ducks from.

Oh, get an INDIAN RUNNER DUCK! They are just so funny to look at.

They are good dual purpose (so I've heard, not that I can do it) and they are quiet and oh so friendly.

so i checked out metzers, its cool they have small order (yeah) however there shipping all the way from california to connecticut (myhome) and there website seems a bit dated. anyone else do ordering from them? and have been pleased overall?

I vote Ancona. Mostly because I have them and love them. They are a rare breed and come in a variety of colors and patterns and lay eggs like crazy. They arent as proficient as runners or campbells but still lay alot of eggs. Mine are very docile and only make noise when something spooks them or they are hungry. Though I do know some who are noisy all the time. Really they are fantastic birds. Whatever you choose will be super lucky ducks!
