I think this was the 3rd time with the Grand Rapids Symphony, at DeVos Hall. The other time was the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and I'm not sure where it was; I don't think it was in Detroit.

My friend Judy ("Judy who plays in the symphony") is probably playing her last season -- she's 73 now. She says she'll keep playing as long as she can play at this level. So this is the last time I'll hear her play Beethoven's 9th.

It was WONDERFUL.
 
My husband's building a shiplapped nest box wall for our basement brooder. It's 100% unnecessary (we could have just used plywood), but also 100% cute. He's a good sport, and we're turning lemons into lemonade, you know? I could add that the chickens won't care either way, but you don't know that! It might just be the thing to convince them to lay 300 feet away from their normal nest box.

"Well, I was going to scream my head off instead of lay, but look at that shiplap wall! It feels like I'm in a beach cottage next to the ocean. I'm so relaxed... ahhh..."

Update: It's done. Now to add a curtain in the doorway, and colorful magnets in the "waiting room" next to the box.
