I think the rain has finally left - cause spring has been officially here for 3weeks now. It is sunny out.

DW and Sister-in-law went to visit their cousin at the hospital which meant I didn't have to go. More relieved than happy, not a good situation. Woman has Alzheimer's and dementia, now a 2nd hip surgery.

One of my hens loves to be picked up, flipped over and rocked back and forth.

Part of checking my girls is to rotate them upside down and check their feet. The majority of them feel this is an affront their dignity and will walk away after they are put down. For the second day in a row, the same hen has run right back up for round 2. She even did a bit of beak clicking. Just adorable.

Squeaky Bird sat on my lap for quite awhile this afternoon. She doesn't like to be petted, but that's ok. Sometimes when she is busy preening, I'll get a very light stroke or two on her.

We got rain last night. Close to a half inch, I think.

Nice! We got rain through the night, then deluged today. My kids got stranded the wrong side of our low-water bridges for about an hour this afternoon bc the water was too high to try to cross. Somewhere between 1.5 and 2 inches I think.

We received a half inch of rain today -- hasn't rained in over a month - crispy crunchy dry - no bugs for the girls, dying grass and weeds so the rain was a wonderful surprise!

We got rain for the FOURTH night in a row! I don't know how much, but the fact that what we've gotten has been spread out and allowed to soak in is wonderful!
