What made you happy today?

While at the beagle club, an adult bald eagle circled overhead twice as if checking me out. This on a blue bird sky autumn day was awe inspiring.

I'm sitting in my fall-themed office, looking out the window at fall foliage while the sun winds down for the day. Think I'll grab a sparkling cider to enhance the mood.

Also, the kind folks on BYC are helping me with a few quail questions. I love this community so much. Thank you, thank you.

Phone bill and property taxes paid for the year (yes, I buy a year of service at a time, works out cheaper that way)

I'm well and strong enough that I was able to work raking weeds out of my "two-by-twice" mint garden in the sunshine today.

Spent my lunch break reminiscing about 90's wrestling with my husband. Haven't laughed that much in a while.

We're also planning to get quail eggs and meat this weekend to see if it will be worth eating our future pets. I'm pretty excited. Even bought a cheap pair of egg scissors!

Received unexpected light rain showers on and off all day, more of a nuisance rain really but we'll take what we can get these dry days. Decided to take advantage of the weather and work on the house project (painting) - made good progress today.

Mmm.... kinda mixed feelings. Found out my Golden's been stealing eggs from the hen house! Seems she eats the yolks then rolls in the white! Bad Jenny! But I am happy to know why I've only been getting 2-3 eggs a day, lol. No worries, I def have a plan to convince her not to ever do it again.

We got a couple of standing dead trees cut down, cut up, and stacked, awaiting splitting. Both had dead/dormant poison ivy vines on them.

No poison ivy rashes for either of us!!!!

Some people are lucky enough to not be allergic (the rash people get is an allergic reaction 'cause maybe like 85% of people are allergic to a compound in poison ivy). I am one such individual and I didn't find out that some leaves I sometimes played with as a kid were poison ivy until I saw them on TV. Even now I can handle the plant with no ill effects
