What made you happy today?

The scariest thing happened today.

We have a printer. It's one of those doodads you refill the ink on. I had refilled it today.

And the colors it outputted were wrong. Mostly pink. Oh no.

All it needed was a print head cleaning.

Phew. Happy I didn't have to breathe a word of it to anyone other than the affected user.

Mine is full of ink but won't print, Bee. I don't use if very often. How do I clean the print head(s), whatever and wherever they are, or do you have a link?

They aren't done, but here they were when I paused today!
I'm going to put "whipped cream" on the triangles to make pie slices, and the pumpkins will get vines as well as a white background. I have some more I haven't really started on that I'm going to make as yellow maple leaves.

What kind of icing do you use, that it doesn't smear?

That is, by far, NOT the scariest thing. That happens all the time, when ink needs refilled. Have you never had to refill the ink before?

I am using royal icing, made with meringue powder (egg whites or meringue powder are the key). It dries hard and smooth. First you pipe a border with "outline consistency", then you fill with "flood consistency". You just adjust with powdered sugar or water to get to those consistencies.

I have refilled the ink plenty of times. This printer's had plenty of issues in the past. And I hate working with the thing.
