What made you happy today?

Yeah. Thieves with big backpacks on bicycles or in cars without license plates follow the delivery trucks around and they take whatever they want. They wear hoodies and masks so there's no way to ID them even with cameras. Any deliveries have to be brought inside immediately. They're willing to cut chain link fences and steal stuff out of backyards so snatching a package sitting in the open on a front porch is easy for them.

We don't get regular mail here anymore, we had to get a post office box because we have curbside mailboxes and thieves take that, too. We petitioned the post office for porch mail delivery but they refused.

We also had to put a lock on our outdoor spigot because they were coming into the yard to steal water. I get that it's hot, but water is free all over town, why break into our yard to steal ours??

Before we had cameras there was this one weirdo who would sneak into our yard and smoke cigarillos. He'd always leave one burning on a windowsill, as if to let us know he'd been there and he was claiming that as his space, or something. AFAIK the police never caught him. It was very creepy.
pendejos.

A friend stopped by on her way to work this morning to show me her car's new paint job. She wasn't in an accident, she has a classic Volkswagen Beetle she's been driving forever and it just needed a fresh coat of paint. The color she chose is kind of a silvery, dusky blue and it's GORGEOUS. I have never seen that color on a car before, it's unique and beautiful!

wonder if it's a factory color.

(says the guy with multiple bugs)

I don't know, that's a good question. Would you know if you saw the color? It looked sort of like this background blue, except a little more silvery. Not metallic, though.

Everyone's monitor is different so it won't be exactly like that. Blue is my favorite color so she knew I'd gush over it, lol. I think hers is a 1972 (don't quote me on that). She bought it used when she was a teenager in the 1980s and has had it ever since. What years do you have? They are such iconic cars.

Also: she dropped off some apple fritters. Bonus! 😃

There are a couple of factory colors in that range for earlier years, but 70's models were all bright colors. Could be something totally different as well.

I've got a '60, a '63 (both projects) and a '66, affectionately known as Clyde.

I found a pair of boots and a pair of slip on shoes that fit :D

Also a nice lady gave me a backpack she didn't need 'cause I didn't bring mine 'cause I wasn't planning on going clothes shopping but it was needed, I needed a few more pairs of shorts for work and my shoes were starting to wear out. I just don't enjoy shopping for clothes as my passion doesn't lie in fashion and going through clothes racks is tedious
