What made you happy today?

They're pretty common streetfood in Japan. Batter, a piece of octopus, maybe some green onion, a bit of ginger, topped with katsuo (dried, shaved, bonito flakes), Japanese mayonnaise and a savory sauce. Personally I skip the mayo, but they're delicious! You do have to be careful not to eat them too soon, because they're really hot!

And wow to his skill and speed!

I don't have anything close to that skill, which is why I want the kitchen gadget! I do have a takoyaki pan, but I haven't gotten good at the turning.
As he was making it I was wondering how it goes from lasagna to balls and he was so fast I am still not sure I understand the movement!
Now I have to seek out a Japanese restaurant that makes them. Flying to Japan just to try seems like a bit too much!

Edited to add: well there is something I can be happy about - there is a place 17 minutes away that has them as their chef’s special.

My cousin's family took me to the "best takoyaki" in Osaka. It was a tiny street stall in an alley. Absolutely delicious, though.

What made me happy: Even though we sat at a stop on the highway for 30-40 minutes while they cleared accidents/slideoffs/spinouts, my chiropractor fit me in 45 minutes after my appointment time.

What else: It was warm enough to sit with the chickens out in the coop for about 20 minutes today.

That sentence made me sad. I totally get it, but still.
No need to be sad, in fact I rejoice. My special snack every night just before bed is two Hershey's Zero Sugar Special Dark Chocolate Minis. My DH keeps me supplied. Dare I say it's my only vice?
