What Mug Are You Using Today?

That's so funny! They do have some different food traditions. 😅 I love the späetzle that's served with many of the dinner entrées!
Is Apple cougan (sp?) German? I'm not sure if I've ever tried German food before.
Yes, the water is COLD all year! 🥶 But beautiful.

It is truly wild! They have ornaments for every single hobby, career, animal, movie, t.v. show, sports team, university, color, glass, wood, ceramic, ....there's an entire wing of the store completely devoted to ornaments that can be personalized while you wait. I've never seen anything like it. I did have to pop 2 Advil the way out - it's so overwhelming! 😵‍💫
Wow! I can't even imagine how many ornaments that would be but I'd be in window-shop heaven. I love ornaments. I'm going to put that place on my bucket list next to the bay there.

My decorational (is that a word?) mug DH bought me one year.

Yes, I think you're referring to Apple Kuchen (?) maybe, which like a German apple cake...

My husband and I go to the same restaurant for our anniversary (it's a very fancy place in Frankenmuth) and we get the same thing every year - pork schnitzel (even though they have way fancier stuff on the menu, lol). It is pork that is hammered very thin and breaded and there's gravy and spaetzle (which is a kind of German pasta-like stuff)....oof! It's soooo good.

I did find out during our visits there that I don't like German potato salad....it's WARM. 😭

Morning y'all! Today's mug was made by a friend's mother. I had a second one from her that was twice as tall and blue instead of red, but one of the first things my husband did when we moved in together was accidentally break it! All things come around though; when we wound up moving again, I boxed up the entire house and the only thing that broke in that move was his favorite mug. I felt awful about it, but there's a certain sense of symmetry in it.

I LOVE that mug. Handmade pottery is so lovely. Great story, too! 😄

That actually sounds really good!! I'm hungry just thinking of pork, bread, and gravy 🤤

I've had apple kuchen balls. I'm not sure if it's traditional style of making them but it's a recipe passed down through my oldest son's side of the family. I wonder if they're German 🤔 I've never thought about it 😂

Interesting! Never heard of a warm salad 😂
That's adorable Mad ❤️
Thank you 💜

Usually apple kuchen is like a sheet cake size, but balls sound delicious, too (get your mind outta the gutter 😜). Recipes passed down through generations are a special thing. I love that!

And yes, the schnitzel is sooooo good! The German potato salad, not so much. 😅
