What next? These animals scare me..

This response is absolutely brilliant. Truly one of the most profound statements ever made in a political discussion. At first, I didn't really lean one way or the other regarding the intentions of the Afghan war, but you have totally convinced me that your position is correct.

BTW, in case you didn't pick up on it, the post is dripping with sarcasm. I really don't know which is the truth at the moment, but you're not helping your case any. Proof, please?

I decided not to respond to that post in the face of the overwhelming volume of facts presented in it.

The story in that link was posted on 28 December 2011. It may have escaped your notice but the attack on Afghanistan began several years ago. Giving up on the pipeline in 2011 doesn't have any bearing on the reason for attacking Afghanistan in the first instance. It might, however, explain the present rush, in relative terms that is, to get the troops out.

Leaving that aside, what can be the possible reason for chasing a few guys with little more than motorbikes and home made AK47s around a desolate countryside? They have no resources with which to damage Western countries, it's claimed that their pal bin Laden is dead, the Northern Alliance is as nasty and untrustworthy as the Taliban, the population doesn't want democracy and will remain Muslim and Western lives are being lost every week.

It's another lost war. Will Western governments never learn to leave other countries alone and focus on their own problems? Perhaps we have to see more lives lost for the sole reason that the final retreat in defeat must be seen as a victory!

Please show me proof that every post you have made wasn't so you could sell eggs to Washington D.C. in the future.

Can you prove the British Government didn't plant the bombs on bloody Sunday ? Just to make the IRA look bad.

Bombs on Bloody Sunday? The soldiers fired live rounds at what was no more than a rowdy street protest. It was a disgraceful as the many acts on all sides that followed.

I'm sure that agents of the British government did many things in NI, GB and the Republic to either inflame or influence public opinion. And my saying that doesn't mean that I agree with such acts.

As I say many times, put your army in someone else's country and you are in for years of misery.

Perhaps that's my plan!

Florida would suit me better, though - somewhere around Ocala so that I could get to Ormond Beach on my days off and not be too far from St. Pete's for longer breaks. I just love Florida, its people and its sunshine, don't you?

Opp's typed the wrong thing didn't mean Bloody Sunday but you got my point. Now can anyone prove we went to Afghanistan for business reasons ?

Didn't you say "That assumes we were there to get bin Laden and the evidence is that the real reason was commercial oil interests". So where is the evidence ?
