What on earth did my chicken lay!??

This little treasure was found in the egg laying box yesterday. The shell was the usual color and consistancy and when I cracked it open, it contained some egg white but no yolk. It was quite a bit smaller than a usual egg. I would love to know what happened, is it common, have you seen it before, etc?

I don't know. I think she may have accidentally started making an egg before any of her yolks matured. This is all I can really tell. Maybe a more experienced person can tell you.

They're called fairy eggs. though I'm not sure if they still are with the strange shape.

I always get this funny egg, it’s long and a little wrinkly and has a “seam” around the middle. It’s quite strange!
