I guess the society one I did was one you could only understand if you're Australian. Yes, people think that homeschoolers are all über-religious and out to brainwash their kids (so not true!), but 'Correspondence School' is my way of saying "SOTA" for people to understand. Thanks to 'Skippy the Bush Kangaroo', everyone here thinks that children who do School of the Air live on a cattle station in the middle of the Outback somewhere with no human contact.
